I think the people on the fourm, who go out taking pictures of the city/DT/buildings/Arena/H&R Block Bulding/FF/From the Air/Plaza/Midtown/Suburbs/Stadiums/Other Cites/sunrise and sunset shots/distant shots/black and white photos/Missouri River/etc are worth meeting, too!

i seem to be a popular choice here, must have something to do with food.chrizow wrote: i'll meet chef, but only if he prepares me a glorious multi-course meal. i'll bring the beer.
actually, i was trying to organize a forum tailgate for opening day, and i got a ton of private messges about coming to it, however, there were also a lot of "i will go if this person is not allowed" and i will go if this person is not invited" or "count me in if you tell so and so they cannot come" so finally i was like, screw this. would've been fun too, i was going to do some serious cooking, but, some other time.

I think the Opening Day idea is great. I would recommend just doing it...and let whoever shows up have a great time.

Yeah, we used to be on kcgeek. Mean was a founding member, and I joined a year or two later, when I had finally managed to live in KC. It kind of faded away over the years, until the domain name was scooped up by a squatter. Now, as far as I know, it's just an irc channel.voltopt wrote: i used to browse kcgeek.com too, and can't help but think mean (and bahau) flipped from there awhiles ago...
There were a couple other KCS forumers that were in kcgeek, but I'll let them identify themselves, should they so choose.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!?!?!? Hilarious!!! And they call your posts childish. I thought about coming but sports of any kind are pretty much wasted on me. I could have brought my world famous Flourless Chocolate Cake too /kcdcchef wrote: i seem to be a popular choice here, must have something to do with food.

it was penny-arcade that originally sent me there in 2001 or 2002 ish....bahua wrote: Yeah, we used to be on kcgeek. i enjoyed the posts for sometime until i got completely sucked in over here... i've been looking at this place since about 2002 but didn't "join" until december 2004. i never really posted at kcgeek, but the forum was fun to read and there were great articles on the main page.

Now that you mention it, I'm not sure they had seats either. The stairs were KILLER. Our buddy runs them like a young man though.Beermo wrote: last time i saw the consoles in the quiet rooms they didn't have any seats. what i want is a jet pack so i don't have to climb all those stairs.

There are at least a few other reasons to meet, to be sure, but having the opportunity to sample...errr...gorge on your earth shattering, better than best chili is an overwhelmingly good enough one for me!nota wrote: The only reason you want to meet me is if I made you my world famous, better than the best, earth shattering chili.
