In an interview in The Independent Julia Irene Kauffman said that she is interested in the success of 18th & Vine. Could she turn her philanthropic interest in that direction?

Now, officials have approved a measure to help construct what they say would be the Third District's first city-funded multilevel garage, and possible transit-oriented development, too, as development continues to increase around its 18th & Vine Jazz District.

An ordinance passed unanimously by the City Council Thursday afternoon directs City Manager Brian Platt to identify city-owned property that could support development, including a potential 400-space garage, and solicit groups to design and build it.
