I predict Jones store will close their Bannister and Metcalf South stores and go into Town Center. Just a guess. But all signs point to closing Bannister since they canceled their move to the old Penney's there and the Metcalf store is so close to their new Oak Park store. I'm sure they and Dillards both would like a location south of 435.

Jacobson Replacement
I was thinking on an arcade with with a Cash America Pawn Shop, Pay Day Loans, Dollar Store, and maybe a Johnson County Erotic City.
I am sure Leawood residents would be delighted.

I finally divorced beer and proposed to whiskey, but I occassionally cheat with fine wine.

Actually, Lafayette County, the one east of Jackson County. Just part of the Midwest farmer's accent...QueSi2Opie wrote:Aye, they have several Priscilla's in JOCO. I enjoy your "Ya'll" accent...are you from the Missouri Ozarks?

This is not a joke: Jacobson's has a sign that says "Halloween Express" So much for a Neiman Marcus. I guess tackiness reaches even what people consider the upscale part of town.

I have a good idea what's the #1 seller is at Halloween Express since it's in Leawood. White Sheets!
Calling a spade a spade.

That is one of the stupidest things I've heard "if" you're implying racism? Everyone knows the Show-Me State is full of rednecks and the only state in America that has a highway adopted by the Ku Klux Klan.ShowME wrote:I have a good idea what's the #1 seller is at Halloween Express since it's in Leawood. I think he's suggesting that Leawood's upper-middle-class/upper-class population favors white sheets. LOL.

Regarding the highway, it's true, but don't blame the state. The courts decided that just because the state disagrees with your nonprofit organization's viewpoints doesn't make that organization ineligible for highway adoption. And anyway, since they couldn't keep the Klan from adopting it, they renamed that stretch of highway the "Rosa Parks Highway".

Forget about the highway. Te reference to white sheets almost always refers to KKK, if Showme was talking about ghosts (since it is called Halloween Express) then the post makes very little sense. As it is, it sounds like a charge of racism for an area that has never had any more of a reputaion toward that than the Northland, Independence, Raytown, etc. In other words, the comment was way out of line.

You can if you want, but I have no idea what the connection is between upper class and white sheets.
