DAn...live in the past, I'll live in the present. Your team beat up on the worst team in D1A history until 1993....that's something to be proud of. As soon as we got average, your boys couldn't hack it.

I don't care if Darren runs the equivalent of 4 football field lengths against the MU defense as long as the game ends with MU scoring 1 more point than Kay State.

Just in case you haven't been keeping track, Kay State has beaten the Tigs by an average of over three touchdowns a game and rolled out three shutouts over the course of the last 11 year win streak.
The Big XII Champs might have a thing or two to say about that 1 point win.
I don't really know how much I can respect K-State. I mean of course they have owned the tigers the past 11 yrs and yeah they have a couple of Big 12 titles. However, they have played one the softest non-conference schedules over the years. Also, when it comes to Bowl Games, they either get shafted by the selection committee and/or they get beat pretty soundley. I would think a team that smoked OU would be able to beat OSU.
2004 non conference schedule
Sat, Sep 04 Western Kentucky Manhattan, Kan. 6:10 p.m.
Sat, Sep 11 Fresno State Manhattan, Kan. 6:10 p.m.
Sat, Sep 18 Louisiana-Lafayette Manhattan, Kan. 1:10 p.m
All of these non conference games are in the 'little apple', why can't you play one of these teams on the road? Or does it really matter (Marshall, 2003)
hartliss...we've one one big 12 title. 2 big 12 north, if that means anything.
This softest schedule argument really holds no water. Look at last year's BCS. 10th ranked schedule in football. Only one team above KSU in the BCS last year had a tougher schedule, Ohio St.
The Big 12 is hard enough, there is absolutely zero reason to play a killer non-con schedule. I mean, Pinkel even has realized this, backing out of the Iowa game.
Respect what the program as done, turned itself from the worst program in 1A history to a consistant top 15 program. To ignore that is just hateful.
And that is such an old, argument used by people who are jealous of K-State's success. We played USC, Cal, and Iowa in recent years on our non-con- and beat tham all. It's a two way street- we can't just decide to play Michigan and put them on the schedule- they have to want to play us too, and they don't!
Well I guess I fired up the 'Cat Backers' with my last comment. I guess you guys are right what can you not like about K-State. They recruit all of the best JUCO players (aka people who were too stupid to get into any NCAA school initially), sprinkle a few Kansas natives and a few out of state natives. Presto, you have K-State and all of the Michael Bishop's and Ell Roberson's you can handle. That is why K-State will never be considered an elite team in the Nation, they are like the Cincinnatti of NCAA basketball. Compile great regular season records then go on to lose to Purdue in the freaking Lumberjack Bowl (6-5 under Bill Snyder in bowl games, should have a better record though if you look at the opponents).
K-State - Michigan, give me a break..... The Wolverines are too busy playing a little bit more competitive schedule than K-State: Miami (OH), Notre Dame, and San Diego State
By the way the Iowa series is set to begin next year, 2005. But hey I feel for you guys, at least the football team is good because what else is there to do in the 'little apple/aggieville' besides cheer on the Purple People Eaters.
You and the rest of the Wildcat Nation better hope Bill Snyder lives to be 150 yrs old.
Yea I do. Sports gets me fired up though, especially when it is your team you are defending. Nothing personal to all of the Wildcat fans, just my two cents.
Lets stick to football and not basketball. I think we are allowed one mistake from a JUCO. Hey I have been to Aggieville last year when the Tigers played K-State, it was a good time but the town itself, is not very exciting. You wouldn't call the loss to Purdue a bad loss?
