Your favorite street in Kansas City?

Post by KCPowercat »

Thought this might be interesting...what is your favorite street in KC? I know it's hard to quantify because there might be many for different reasons but let's say what would be your favorite street to drive out of town guests on?

And why....if I don't list it, feel free to add a comment.

That kind of a tough choice. I went with Ward Pky. I like Main St too though, so much on that road.

Downtown, Broadway is cool. Outside of downtown, Ward Parkway is my favorite, it's awesome. I love the large houses and mansions.

Broadway without a doubt is the best. It's the busiest street in downtown, tourists enter the city from the Broadway Bridge, it's the most exciting street in midtown and Westport plus it ends at the best point on the Plaza. I like 39th Street too!
The Pendergast Poltergeist Project!

I finally divorced beer and proposed to whiskey, but I occassionally cheat with fine wine.

Yeah I wanted to put 39th but I had to put some "burb" streets in there ;)

I like Broadway a lot....I'll like it a lot more in about 45 days when I move to Quality Hill.....can't wait.....

I voted Ward Parkway btw.....Broadway is much more urban and has better urban stuff going on but can't beat the look on people's faces when you drive them around the old money.

Come on KC, you didn't have too ;). Plus if your going to pick suburban streets, Barry Road is better than 119th street (119th st with trees and hills).

I picked Ward Pky cause it is so unique to KC and the midwest, but Broadway and Main are just the most diverse and interesting corridors in the city.

BTW, I wonder if 39th will get popular east of SW Tfwy. There is not much west of State line and east of SW Tfwy is kinda ghettoish but this road really has potential linking Westport to Hyde Park.

Independence Avenue for its mixture of businesses... Caribbean Mini Mart and Income Tax Service. Now that's what I call mixed use.

I think North Oak between Gladstone and North Kansas City is KC at its best.  &

Ward Parkway! My favorite street anywhere.  Can you revive the poll?

dunno, about 10th & Bdwy that is... granted it's screwed up with the nonsensical one-ways here and two-ways there, but isn't replete with undesireables. i want my riff-raff.

sometimes i dig up ancient threads too... though i've come to understand it's kind of a verboten thing to do on a lot of boards, but i like the look back at the board from years ago. this thread was started a year and a half before I even joined and I've been here four years now.

I like the little Janssen Place loop over near (in?) Hyde Park. Some of the coolest houses in KC, all on the same block.
