Coalition Against Arena Tax

Greetings,

Make your voice count! Join us at the anti-tax rally this Thursday,
July 29 at noon in front of City Hall. Let Mayor Barnes know how you
really feel and help us protest raising taxes on Kansas City
residents.

Emcee for the rally will be talk radio show host Stan Glazer. The
event will also feature addresses from Paul Danaher, former City
Councilman and Attorney, as well as Pete Sepp from the National
Taxpayers Union.

Hope to see you there!

I agree...just information. Signed up on their email list to see what they were up to. Thought that "busy little bees" subject line would have given it away.

I will be out and about trying to get this thing done for the next week. Nice to have the town buzzing about downtown issues but some of the things that I am hearing from downtown neighbors are scary. I am posting the fact from here at my building tonight.

Does everyone see how they have worded this? They worded this like it was a general tax increase, not a nearly invisible increase to hotel and car rental taxes only.

While I can't make make it to this event, perhaps I can arrange to at least drive by during it, blaring my horn and waving some pro-arena signs.

Anyone know where I can get soem signs fast?

fyi......
For any of you that are interested, we will be staging demonstrations
outside of the two downtown Enterprise Rent A Car shops during morning
and afternoon rush hour, the day before the vote. The campaign is
providing the signs, bullhorns and flyers, but we need massive
volunteers. If you or anyone that you know can help, please e-mail me
and I will forward you the details. The vote may be close, we cannot
let a St. Louis billionaire prevent Kansas City's first world renowned
sports facility that is actually developed in the right location. For
additional information about the arena, visit www.downtownarena.com

I cannot make it to the Anti-Arena campaign to voice my Pro-Arena opinion. I hope some of you guys get your asses over there on Thursday and hold up Pro-Arena signs!

I may do just that, slightly reworded. :) The "New Day" banners don't make the point that's needed to be made here.

Hey, if someone here can make it to rally against the anti-arena people tomorrow, how about printing off a few dozen copies of KCP's fact sheet and passing them out?

Excellent idea! Clean them up, make them pretty, pass them out! Somebody, anybody!?!?! You'll regret it if the arena fails with only 49% in favor.

I can clean them up and print a bunch off tonight if someone who is going tomorrow wants to come by and pick them up from me on their way there. PM me by 6:00 if you want to take me up on the offer, I don't want to spend a bunch of time making them if no one will be passing them out.
