When I ran up to the store later last night I did see the Paseo on... but it was not going through its color rotation and the pillars of light were not lit.

Seems like the contractors really had to scramble to get finished in time for the public ceremony. I bet they still have some work to finish up, so that might be why the lighting still isn't consistent.

Good thing they're scrambling to get stuff done. They didn't work on this stuff for two years or anything.

I would also think that the Paseo lights are temporary since they will shut it down next year to restore and paint it.

Is the problem with the red color of the broadway bridge perhaps related to its proximity to the airport? I seem to remember something about the colors and problems with planes and such.
Are you sure we're talking about the same God here, because yours sounds kind of like a dick.

The lighting is kinda like the Riverfront Trail... It took a long time after the initial announcement to get enough funding to hire contractors and start the work.

The Star says the bridges are supposed to be lit from dusk until 1:00 am, but overriding the timers for the weekend festivals screwed them up. The Paseo Bridge lights are also waiting on one more part. All bridges were lit up on time last night.

Yep...I took the Mrs on a car ride to look at 'em about 9:30 last nite, & they were all lit up.

The Paseo reminds me of those 70's "black light" bulbs. I was tempted to paint the Led Zeppelin logo along with a naked warrior chick & a panther on that thing.

Seriously though, I liked the color.

I don't know when this happened, and perhaps it was a long time ago and I'm the last person to notice, but the Heart of America bridge is now lit with green lights.

There are still white lights that shine outward as well as down into the water, but the bridge structure itself is now illuminated by green floodlights directed upon it. From a distance the effect is subtle and the bridge's normal green color just looks like it's extra rich. Up close though it's like a bright green paint has been splashed about symmetrically. I like it.

Yeah, I noticed they were brighter a week, or so, ago. Much cooler now.

Does anyone know when the Broadway Bridge gets its lights turned on?

All bridges' lights come on at dusk.

What I meant to say is when will the installation of the lights on the Broadway Bridge be completed, and the lights start being used at night?

Installation was completed July 4th with the other bridges. The lights have been on nightly since then.

So, the Broadway Bridge is now lit at night? That's odd because the lighting looks the same to me as it always has.

Are you looking at it after 1am when they turn the lights off?

It's lit from dusk until 1:00 am in a very noticable reddish/orange light. No offense, Fang, but I don't know how anyone could miss it.

I think it is more evident when you see it from the side than when you drive over it. I usually cross it coming from the north and I think the airport lights kind of distract one from noticing the lights on the bridge. There are also a lot of lights on in the windows of buildings on the hillside south of the bridge that draw one's attention away.

However, when one sees it from Riverfront Road, it's a different bird entirely.

They ought to light the ASB Bridge as well. Turn it into a lightbox of art over the river.
