I don't remember seeing this as the plans for the Paseo bridge, but yesterday I noticed that one of the pillar sets were painted a Navy Blue.  Could that be a base color?  Or do they plan on it being blue?

Blue is the final color for the pillars.

Most of the south tower and nearly all of the main cables have already been painted the navy blue color.

Feast your eyes on this for a couple of days.  I hope to get a Paseo shot soon...

The Paseo should be ready to light.  I rode my bike across it last night (once in a long while chance to ride on an interstate bridge) and there were lighting crews on the deck inspecting the lights.  Hopefully the new Navy pillars will soon be lit in all their splendor.  I'm assuming they'll switch to white light since the purple wouldn't do much on the blue pillars.

well i am awaiting the pictures of the paseo bridge. i was pleased last summer when i first saw the lit bridges when i came to town. at first, i thought it was some "look at these, forget the fireworks suck" scheme, but i do like it. adds to the charm of the city at night.

Nice picture.  The bridge looks pretty good with the blue paint and lights.

what sucks is that they turn the lights off early.

i have went over the paseo the last 2 nights going home at about 3-4 in the morning and all the bridges have their lights off.

i think they should leave them on until at least first light.

What are the pillars north of the brige on 169N by Wheeler Airport? They look like they are beckoning the mother ship to come home.

They are part of the Broadway/169 corridor enhancements that were done to beautify the area along the airport and create gateway monuments into Downtown and the Northland.  The ones on 169 are companions to the ones at 5th & Broadway on the south approach to the bridge.

I would really like to see the city light up the Railroad bridges too.  Some of these bridges are far more fascinating to look at than the HOA bridge all lit up.

So, what's happened with the bridges?  Broadway seems dimmer than in the beginning. The monuments at 5th St. haven't been lit the last few times I've been by there.  There also hasn't been any use of other colors, as was planned for special occaisions.  The Paseo lighting seems much dimmer since it was turned back on, and the vertical light pillars seem to be gone.  Any word on adding lights to other bridges like Hannibal and ASB?

I can see Broadway bridge, the monuments, and Paseo clearly from my place.  The illumination has not changed and is on every night.

Even the vertical beams on the Paseo?  If they're still there, I haven't been able to discern them.

I haven't noticed the 5thj Street columns being off, but the vertical columns of light on the Paseo Bridge have definitely beeen gone ever since the bridge re-opened. :(

I think they've changed the lighting color on the Broadway Bridge.  It seems to be a deeper, rosier red now.
