Best Burger?
Since it was brought up in another thread, let's hear everyone's opinions on the best burger in town. The Westport Flea Market has long laid claim to be being the best in town, but I'm pretty unimpressed. I'm having a tough time thinking up my most favorite. I like Houston's and J. Alexanders and Lucky BrewGrille, especially with the sweet potato fries. I'm having a more difficult time coming up with what I consider a great burger from a more traditional burger joint. My favorite burger anywhere is probably In 'N Out - sadly nowhere near KC.

I have to say Westport Flea Market....big, meaty, juicy....great toppings bar to add on whatever you want.
I also like Town Topic but they are completely different type of burger....Hardee's new burgers are actually pretty damn good. I usually don't get burgers in restaurants so hard to say past that.

The Flea gets my vote... but only when it's prepared medium-rare and the cook on duty actually knows what that means and serves you a burger that isn't gray through-and-through.

Gotta represent for the Flea, with Fric and Frac a close second. Benders has a good burger, for being a dive bar.

Forgot to mention $1.95 burger and fries at McCormick & Schmicks at happy hour. Best deal in town.

McCoy's...best flavor! Better than the Flea IMO.
The Pendergast Poltergeist Project!
I finally divorced beer and proposed to whiskey, but I occassionally cheat with fine wine.

I know it's a chain, but Hardees big burgers are awesome. I guess most people in the metro don't have a Hardees near them anymore.
Another chain burger I love is Backyard Burger.

back in my meat-eating days, i still refused to eat hamburgers under any circumstances....any circumstance but one.
Winstead's.
i am a complete sucker for a Double Winstead with cheese and tomato only. it's just so simple and good. and their fries are my favorite. top it all off with a vanilla malt or special chocolate malt and you've got one happy chrizow.

Oh yeah, DMW, Backyard Burger is great! And I don't mind supporting them because they started out as a local chain.
(I actually don't mind supporting any chain that is quality enough to deserve its success, Hardees is great too. I just prefer local first. )

As I mentioned elsewhere, I think Max's Autodiner on Wornall has the best burger in town easily .
