Governor Sebelius announces exciting Kansas travel promotion and chance to win a new car.
Governor Kathleen Sebelius held a special press conference on the south steps of the Kansas State House today to announce the Kansas Mega Gigantic Get Away From It All Summer Blastoff You Won’t Believe It ‘Til You See It Giveaway, the new Kansas Travel and Tourism promotion and sweepstakes.
The Governor was joined by Lieutenant Governor John Moore, Secretary of Transportation Deb Miller, Secretary of Wildlife and Parks Mike Hayden, and Travel and Tourism Director Scott Allegrucci as well as four fourth-grade classes from Shawnee Heights Elementary School.
In her address, Governor Sebelius rolled out the specifics of this exciting new promotion that encourages travel in Kansas, particularly by Kansans. To enter, travelers must go 100 miles from their home, take a picture of themselves, their family, or friends at a Kansas attraction or event listed on www.travelKS.com or in the 2004 Kansas Getaway Guide (available by calling 1-800-2KANSAS). They send in their photo with an entry form for a chance to win a new Chevrolet Malibu or other prizes. A Chevy Malibu from Ed Bozarth Chevrolet in Topeka was on display at the press conference.
Governor Sebelius also explained why this summer is the best time to travel within the state. “This is an especially exciting year for traveling in the state of Kansas,â€
