I was playing around with OpenStreetMap recently and found that it's a pretty easy way to see new construction in the area. It's all updated by volunteers, so not going to be 100% accurate, but gives a good idea of where construction is happening right now.
I made an interactive map visualizing it, limited to just the urban core:

Anything notable missing? Feel free to go to https://www.openstreetmap.org and update it! It can be a little daunting at first, but it's a really fun activity if you're interested.

Nice! I've added many of those in OSM that currently display. Not a great place for proposed developments (run one here) due to OSM guidelines, but I dig it. Definitely some needed updates I see that I'll try to get to.

I didn't know about that map, but that one is also really useful! I wish I could filter by Proposed/Under Construction.bspecht wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 3:54 pm Not a great place for proposed developments (run one here) due to OSM guidelines, but I dig it.
I kind of like how OSM restricts you to just what's "on the ground" - eliminates some of the idle talk that happens without any real construction going on. Feels like a good way to see real development vs. just buzz. But the Google Maps one has its place too!

Some new houses that haven't been mapped are being built on Highland near E. 41st Street.
