Texas Rangers World Series Parade

It seems kind of sad that the Rangers parade will be rolling along in Arlington Texas. A lifeless suburban area everyone will have to drive to. This has got to be the first time a sports parade will be in a suburb isn't it? This is equivalent to the NY Giants having a parade in NJ cause they play in NJ or Pats having a parade by Gillette not in Boston 30 miles up the road.
You got to wonder what other teams could have a suburban type of parade? Could see Arizona Cardinals having its parade in Glendale. LA Angels having it in Anaheim makes sense.

It would have to be in Dallas. Arlington doesn't even have public transportation.

Arlington has ponyed up to pay for a stadium twice - they deserve it

Arlington and Tarrant county funded a lot of the stadium(s) - if parades are held there, they deserve it. Probably gonna be a clusterfuck if they haven't finished construction on the nearby interchange/exit ramps, though.

How is the area handling transportation to AT&T for the World Cup given the nearest train station is a 30 minute or so walk?

Previous Cowboys/Mavericks/Stars parades were in Dallas. I guess because they're the *Dallas* teams verses the *Texas* team. Maybe Ft. Worth would have a fit if the Texas Rangers chose Dallas? I assume Dallas and Ft. Worth are as petty as Kansas and Missouri.

After some Google searches, the closest parade I could find that wasn't in a urban area was 2011 Green Bay Packers. They had a "celebration event" at the stadium, but no parade.

They plan to have a shuttle bus service regularly going back and forth between Jerryworld and the CentrePort station during the world cup. They've done this for a number of large events before (Wrestlemania last year for instance) and are planning to do it again for the MLB All-star game next year.

Also makes it easy to get from downtown Ft Worth on the TRE

I mean, yeah. When they won in 02, Disneyland was one of the locations.

Actually was at that parade. Incredible time. I had way too much with those Thundersticks

I have seen several people complain about the transportation issues for the Rangers parade and how "boring it was."

I really should have been in downtown Dallas, IMO.

I did but was also bouncing off some wifi since we had a reservation at Texas Live. We just happened to be in town for business and some friends are big Rangers fans. I still favor our cities parade here but this was different and the area is just too perfect to not have the rally part there.
