KCMO has had congressional help to fund the streetcar expansion and Troost Max. We need a regional funding mechanism to draw larger federal matches for additional expansion of Streetcar and BRT.

On EVs, KCMO says they are going for net-zero by some far off date, but are largely taking symbolic steps towards that. KCPD and KCMO have ZERO electric vehicles (correct me if I am wrong here).

Some police departments have begun studying using Teslas and other EVs for patrol duties as their range is finally up to usable amounts plus they save literally thousands of dollars a year. Bardgersville IN (small suburb ouside of Indianapolis) has a Tesla and reported it saved them $6700 per year versus a Dodge Charger. Spokane Washington is buying 4 Teslas, a NY and Conneticut police department are also buying EVs. We need to re-institute the EV tax credit for GM and Tesla so police departments and municipal fleets can have a full selection of EVs with the tax credit.

KCMO barely has any EV chargers at government buildings. I believe all are paid for by Evergy. We have no requirements for EV hookups in new new parking garages and homes. We also have overly burdensome parking requirements to begin with, but anyways, its way cheaper to pre-wire for 240 EV hookups during construction, or building a parking garage during construction. So many people living in apartments and condos but want to drive an EVs, but don't have an adequate charging solution.

For example, look at this parking garage in downtown Oslo, Norway, which has the largest number of charging stalls along with a battery load balancing system.
