PTC said no to that. I think the valet either moved to the side street or was reconfigured. They made a false assumption that the curb lane was a bus lane.

Saw some workers around the dumpster today and a few Blue Hat crane trucks parked outside

Cityscene sometimes reposts older articles. Looks like this one was from last October.

I’m not by this building very much, but I’ve never seen much activity so I’m not sure much work has actually been occurring

-Building to start renovation before the end of this year
-Should be completed in 2023
The AC Rialto plans to include a first-floor restaurant and bar, plus meeting space and an exercise facility. The hotel will not include on-site parking and instead anticipates using an 85-space lot about two blocks away, at 710 Walnut St., for valet service.
I've driven by this recently and it's been bustling with workers.

I never posted the pictures of it, but at night, on one of the lower floors, facing grand, a model room has already been set up and completed. You can see it from the street, but you can’t get much else in the room besides the curtains or the lamp.

I was going to point that out as well. 3rd floor I believe with the lights on overnight.

I hope the operator will make a real attempt with the first floor restaurant. So many failed attempts downtown: both Indigo's, Marriott, Westin, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Phillips, President, etc.

Fence went up recently on the surface lot of 7th and grand. Looked up the owner and it's now the same owner as the hotel so assume they are using it soon for construction placement and then parking in the future?

Edit reading back through this thread thr 7th lot was already known for future parking. So no big news here.

Are there any redevelopment plans for the building directly across Grand from this? I know there's around ~one~ tenant on the 2nd floor, but the rest seem empty.

I tried to buy 901 Grand a month ago. The current owner says he’s not selling.

To be fair, didn't the Westin give their big destination restaurant the boot back in the 90s? It's one of the only Trader Vic's on Wikipedia that didn't move to another hotel or close organically.

It was being planned for storage a year ago. The guy who renovated the Nelle Peters building on Armour was involved.

I don't know why he is hanging on to a mostly empty building.
