Take this over to the KC Tenants thread. Let's quit hijacking threads with that discussion.

Are they completing it, or is it being entombed in shrinkwrap like the wonderland?

It looks like it's advanced quite a bit relative to the time I saw it last a few weeks ago - and I was writing it off as dead then so maybe there is hope it will be completed. I'd like to see some progress around the iconic part of the building.

I saw at least half a dozen workers on site last week.

IIRC I saw someone putting siding up on the north end...so maybe there's hope?

Drove by yesterday at 3 PM. I saw no activity. Perhaps people were working inside? Nothing going on in the old Katz drugstore part of the project.

Which of course is the part I'm most concerned about

Great shot! Another layer of (soon-to-be) density.

Crew working on west side today putting up cheap looking siding. The propped up Katz exoskeleton looks very vulnerable to high winds. Hope it survives.

They’re going to drop something in it, say “Oops” and build modern what they wanted in the first place.

There does seem to be continued progress, but I remain concerned about the historic piece of the project. Fitting a swimming pool and roof deck up there is no small feat and there is limited reinforcement. At least at this point

Focus is to get cash flow going by completing units first. I believe it’s as stabilized as engineers saw fit.

A truck is going to "accidentally" run into it and knock it down.

That aerial really does show how far they've got to go on the historic part. I'm fearful they will amend the project to do almost nothing there.
