I assume this refers to Bonner Crossing? https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/ ... EifQ%3D%3D

A proposed 180-acre mixed-use development that would include a concert pavilion, a performing arts campus, apartments and townhomes, hotels, restaurants, retail and a senior-living facility will be proposed at Tuesday night’s Bonner Springs Planning Commission meeting.

Dubbed Bonner Crossing, the project would occupy the northwest corner of Speedway Boulevard and State Avenue. That's across from the Kansas Speedway and the proposed location of the new American Royal complex.

According to plans submitted to the city, the developer is Shawnee-based The Solutions Group KC LLC. When reached by phone, a representative of the company declined discuss specifics. HOK Group and NSPJ Architects are the architects.

Looks like Mattel's 2nd "Adventure Park" will break ground in Bonner Springs later this year.
The “all-new entertainment resort destination” will be in Bonner Springs, Kan., and is set to open in 2026.

The park will feature rides and attractions based on popular Mattel toys, games and characters, including Hot Wheels, Thomas & Friends and UNO. There will also be a “larger-than-life Barbie Beach House” complete with retail shopping, a Barbie hologram, a flying theater and The Barbie Rooftop restaurant and bar.

Good god. Another STAR bonded project in KS.

Where are all the people against corporate handouts to millionaire developers for KS side development? Never anywhere to be found.

Just like Schlitterbahn, they won't last five years (unless KS subsidizes them even more down the road).

There is no way in hell they would have chosen Bonner Springs if they didn't basically get a free park and have basically nothing to lose, just like everything else that is built in suburban KCK and now much of what goes up in JoCo too.

Meanwhile the rest of KCK continues to rot and loose people.

Maybe this will let Cedar Fair know that they can no longer ignore KC. I bet they build something major in the next off season.

I agree with GRID, this will be a failed project within a few years. People will go initially but grow bored with it in time and it will close.

All these visitors will never drive a few miles east on State Avenue, and if they do they will wonder how they traveled back in time to 1978. Maybe there will start to be more redevelopment in that direction but I doubt it. But hopefully this and the Homefield project will be a big enough success that Hollywood Casino will finally build a hotel.

Maybe the state of Missouri will just hand over 250 million dollars to Cedar Fair to do that like KS is doing here?

Really looks like they will bank on this thing drawing from the region more so than just KC. Good for KC to at least take a shot and continue to invest in the area. Kind of stinks that the rest of KCK is still lacking but maybe with the Panasonic Plant going up there will be opportunities for the growth to migrate North & EAST into area of Western KCK & WY county. Nothing they mentioned really moves the needle for me but can't fault them for trying.
