I looked on the Omni Hotels website and they do have hotels with around 200 rooms in some markets.

It would be cool if you could integrate something like ChatGPT to a forum to help answer easy questions, but are things that are helpful to the conversation and most people would want to know.

And then we still have to wonder what the 4L hotel would be. I wonder if they go all residential now for 4L because of the Lux project swooping in on that space.

Indianapolis will own and finance a new convention center hotel in their downtown.

Around $800 million in approved convention center projects active.

Crowne Plaza Hotel has been:

Holiday Inn City Center (opened in 1970)
Quality Inn Americana Hotel
Americana Hotel
Omni Hotel
Doubletree Hotel
Radisson Hotel
Crowne Plaza

By 1991 (21 years after it opened), the hotel had deteriorated greatly, and proposals were put forth to renovate it into a convention hotel. This included a plan to add an additional 500 rooms and a 380-space garage. I'm assuming this addition would have been to the south of the present building.

Q1/2023 metro hotel report for Midwest. KC metro occupancy improves to nearly 60%, not bad for winter and a few % better than Midwest avg but supply of rooms still down by nearly 1000 since 2020 peak. Given over 2000 rooms have been added since 2020 yet 1000 net loss that would imply about 3000 rooms have closed in that period if the report is accurate. STL metro lost even more rooms. KCMO has added near 600 rooms since 2020. KC metro appears to lead Midwest (outside Chicago) with upcoming/proposed rooms.

Because it looks like the developer is about to be indicted big time. That’s all I know. I guess technically this doesn’t involve the project but…

This is an unsubstantiated claim at this point. Even if there’s an indictment regarding Lux, it’s not know whether that’ll kill projects. It all depends on the reach of the indictment. Don’t be saying it’s dead.

I have the full set of 1969 blueprints for this Oberlechner monolith, if anyone wants them. LOL. Offered to current management, who declined.

[Actually, I think we trashed them in the last Deffenbaugh recycling pick-up.]

If you find those drawings I would love to have them! I actually quite like this building.
