So there is a plan to finish that all the way to B garage? I saw the done part of the walkway and always kinda wondered where it was going.

Is there a way to see the actual plans on CompassKC? I can't find it under any of the tabs, but I'm probably not looking in the right place.

It's touch and go on which permits have attachments. I assume the applicant can choose to hide attachments when submitting.

Experienced the rental car facility for a drop off first time ever. It's nice but it seems way over engineered for what it is. Building was huge.
Hard to find the visitor parking lot too. Kinda weird.

Sometimes over-engineered is for the purpose of future expansion.

It seems KCI may become accessible to non fliers at some point in the foreseeable future. I doubt if many will flock to the airport to eat out but it might gain some business from people that want to accompany family or friends to the airport and potentially share a meal there.

I landed the night the cold hit and that luggage level was freezing inside I can totally see how this happened (along with probably not good enough insulating right there). Those double doors were opening too quickly and not closing fast enough (probably also due to the cold), they probably should stagger the doors like they did that the old terminal during extreme cold.
that night the baggage system also froze up which delayed delivery of all bags.

Would a more robust climate screen system provide the same effect without disabling doors?

like those big blowers when doors open? Yeah that would probably work too

Flew in this morning. They did have the doors staggered on baggage level. It was still fairly chilly.

I was told by a SWA flight attendant yesterday that there were plans to open up a crew base in KC. I don't really know what all that entails but seems to be a positive sign for growth?

I can only imagine it would be positive for the Market, and likely mean a few more routes in the future.

This guy was excited as he could then switch his home base to KC, not sure if "crew base" is the right term he used so just explaining more why he even told me and what that might mean for future possible growth
