Building at S. 18th and Pacific, KCKS

Does anyone know anything about this building? It appears to be a former school--now called Alcott Arts Center. It's across from the Sunfresh Market at S. 18th and Pacific. I never see any activity there. It seems like it would be a perfect building to renovate into apartments. Every time I drive past it, I think this.
The parcel appears to have room to build new apartments as well. It's across from a shopping center and grocery, so would seem to be a good location for more residential.
