Where is this and why do so many of my location aware apps think that's where I am when I'm downtown.
Also, how do we get rid of it?

Re: Kaw Township
Kaw Township is a subdivision of Jackson County dating back to 1827.
You're literally inside is when you're downtown.
What are the apps? Need to identify the common data source that uses this name.

Thanks. I dont care about the history of kaw township...it's dumb to be a named location in 2017.
Google maps seems to be the culprit.

Lost township beer festival in Raytown this weekend.

Townships are part of our history.
Raytown was known as the “Lost Township” for about 20 years. When Jackson County had been surveyed in 1826, a surveyor had said this land with tough prairie grass and no trees was “no good” and not worth measuring. However, the farmers disagreed with him.
