I see some activity at the old Sun Fresh Grocery store. They have up some scaffolding and refaced the upper part a bit with stucco. Anyone know if something is going in there?

Dang, I thought someone would know. I may have to go and talk with the workers tomorrow. I'll post it here.

We usually know because someone asks or plans are submitted

One of the workers said he thought it was a flooring store going in.

That is super disappointing if true. My parents live right near there and have been excited thinking it was a new grocery store.

A new grocery store would have been nice, but there is just too much competition and ultimately why Sun Fresh went out of business. There are at least 4 more stores that carry groceries in the local area than when Sun Fresh opened. Wal-Mart, Target, New Hyvee on 64th, Sprouts, etc. So I am actually relieved that it is not another grocery store. Hope they do well.

Liberty supported two stores for 25k. It gained two stores for the next 30k. It gained #5 only with all the apartments.

That area is too low density for five grocery stores.
