If our team can't play in the Super Bowl, bring the Super Bowl to us!

Missouri Senate orders up play to bring Super Bowl to KC
The Missouri Senate wants to make a run at bringing the Super Bowl to Kansas City.

The Senate passed a resolution on Thursday urging the Missouri Department of Economic Development to set up a task force that would develop a plan for “highlighting the viability of Kansas City as a site for the Super Bowl... .” Among the task force’s duties would be identifying any state incentives that might be used to draw the event to Arrowhead Stadium.

The National Football League held its first outdoor Super Bowl in a cold-weather location earlier this year.
Next year was supposed to be the year KC hosted the Super Bowl - if we had passed the rolling roof referendum.

Task force begins work Monday in effort to bring Super Bowl to Kansas City

KC’s silly bid for a Super Bowl
But you might have noticed that Kansas City is no New York City. We’re about a tenth of the size in population and, more notably, plunked smack dab in the middle of the country without a lot else going on around us in the dead of winter. Plus, our weather extremes are more, well, extreme than New York City when it comes to temperatures, snow and wind.

Also, there are some “cold-weather cities” that don’t have domes — such as Chicago — that would be in front of Kansas City when it comes to hosting a Super Bowl. Denver likely would be on that list, too.

The Super Bowl is not even a game, its a TV show that generates lots of money and boosts the networks other shows There is more attention being focused on what celebrities are attending what parties than the location of the super bowl. The super bowl is not even a game anymore its just an event, its something out of the 70s movie Rollerball. The NFL really needs to get back to basics and bring the Super Bowl to these cold weather places, I would rather see true fans at these games freezing in Lambeau. Id love to see celebrities complain about the podunk location of the super bowl because if you don't like the location then don't go because a true fan would love to go.

Each year the NFL seems to be turning more into WWE, it seems like more focus is put on Characters (QB's especially) while suspension are thrown down if you fart in the locker room (Can't believe Prater got 4 games for drinking a beer).

This is a pretty apt description IMO. I had been feeling this the last few years, but didn't quite know how to put this into words- this seems about right.
