But even now, in the middle of the playoffs, you're more likely to see a Cardinals cap or a St. Louis Blues parka than anything with a Rams horn on it.
Well the Blues are in season as well dummy.

LOL...that was friggin' hilarious....the columnists entire article is based on a wintertime visit to the Nat'l Bowling HoF AND a conversation had with a current StL resident with "connections to Charlotte" and who is obviously out of touch with the local sports vibe.

What is difficult, at best, for fans in minor sports cities like Charlotte to understand is, there are four major sports, and they only have TWO...the Hurricanes and Panthers. Meanwhile, major sports cities like StL have at least three if not four, and, in the case of StL, maintain a loyal following to those teams as well as football.

I'd be willing to bet the Blues consistently outdrew the Charlotte Hornets throughout the same period they existed in each respective city.

An aside. Not to be mean spirited, but this is the type of article that is par for the course from KU Star writer Jeffrey Flanigan a few short days before the Royals host the Cards each summer.

Both columnists appeal to the simple minded.

well mind you that the man is from the carolinas....my grandparents live in savannah, ga and people in the the carolinas and ga think their area is the best place in the world no matter if you are comparing it with ny or europe...it's like the mother land or something....he's probably just bashing stl so the carolinans can have something else to think they're so great at.

The Carolina Hurricanes' "swirl" logo symbolizes hockey going down the toilet.

I'm not a big StL fan, but this is like somebody picking on your brother (It's OK for you to do it, but when somebody else tries...it's ON!).

People in that hole Charlotte need to shut up. In no way is Charlotte the center of anything in the sports world. At least StL has the Cardinals and the Rams have won the super bowl. Most people around the country don't even know Charlotte has any pro sports. The Jaguars and the Panthers are the same team in most people's mind. It's funny they have to call all their teams "Carolina" just to draw more fans in the South. Maybe Charlotte can start some more expansion teams, lose them and then start new ones a year later...bunch of shmucks.

Hockey doesn't belong in places where snow is a novelty.
