I read an article where it says they hope to break ground on January 2nd so guessing they are going to hit the ground running. May even see 24/7 construction.

With today as the starting point, done by June 2020 would be 31 months.
Two Light is just past 21 months today from construction walls going up.

So that seems very doable.

Nothing. It's Heather hall grandstanding when she turns around and supports giving away Westport without one question.

Someone just posted a photo on Reddit saying it's a go. I'm not sure how to upload photos here, but dear god tell me that's not what it will look like

That image is the southwest corner (garage) and appears to be correct. Taken from Loew's presentation to the city: http://kcmo.gov/wp-content/uploads/2017 ... -11-30.pdf

Yeah that's from the PAC view which is horrible. I'll always believe the hotel tower is on the wrong side of that site plan.

Sounds like Loar, Hall and Shields were satisfied with the answers they were given today. The ordinance is being sent through with a "do not pass" attached. A formality, probably, to vote against the ordinance so that it isn't appearing anywhere on the city's plate and ultimately to appease the lenders.

Des Moines is getting a 40 story tower with apartment and hotel. Apartment portion will use hotel amenities. This would have been Great for downtown KC

Read where it is in either the Senate or House version of the tax cut plan could do away with the tax-free status of bonds used for economic development purposes.

During a Nov. 29 meeting, the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority gave final approval to several “substantially finalized” agreements pertaining to the 800-room Loews Kansas City Hotel despite the fact that several blanks in the documents remained to be filled in. At the time, Steve Rattner, a veteran New York-based financier and one of the partners with the hotel development team, said the documents needed to be finalized in time for bond offering documents to be published by Dec. 6 if the developers hoped to stick to their goal of financial closings in December.

But that deadline was not met.
