Both of those companies would be obvious tenants for that new building being proposed at Third Street and Grand in the River Market.

Both firms are taking temporary space. I believe both were also recruited by KCADC who has/had been meeting with the 3rd Grand Developer. There could be a connection there.

This shows Life Sciences Employment. Not GDP $ like the above. KC metro's growth since 2014 is significant compared to most other markets.

Considering KC doesn't have a strong research university is surprising KC is doing well in these categories. But could even be better with stronger research universities.

Google spun off Replica from Sidewalk Labs a while back and based HQ in KC but am thinking it used to be near 9th and Broadway downtown. Looks like it moved to OP?

Also, Google Maps shows that 911 Broadway is the "Google Fiber KC HQ" and 908 Broadway is "Google Building BRDW". Does Google own these buildings or leasing? Are there any other Google divisions/depts in these buildings or just GFiber?

It's my understanding that the building is/was indeed GFiber's KC HQ. This would be different from the more "cable/wireless store" model of the GFiber Space on State Line/Westport rd - enterprise sales and the like. I spoke with a local GFiber rep some time ago (multifamily tech conference) and she was based in that office. Don't really have any detail beyond that, but I would assume they lease the space.

Large report on national tech employment. KC ranks 24th for overall tech employment and 11th for growth. Has fairly high per capita tech biz establishments, implying a startup market. Appears to be based on mid-year 2020 data. KC had a recent decent STEM employment boost up to Mar 2021 relative to other markets according to BLS.
