Shenanigans. It's going to suck to agree with both Tony and Hearne for the next week.

If you read my post in the municipal election thread this race was the #1 race in the City. He was the least liked candidate by a large margin and the mayor had a "don't vote for anyone" campaign going against him!

You'll always find something to dislike about someone so it's not worth dwelling on negatives over positive but he's someone I have trouble finding more things to like than dislike.

Much as I hate to say it, the Star printing pavilion might not sell for more than $10 million today.

Though that is a very different proposition from 'they forgot to ask'.

So I guess they're going to leverage this into....more available public parking? Better than nothing, I suppose. The only reason it may be undervalued is it's association with the dead tree media meme. Can you imagine that structure, divested of printing equipment, as an event space/boutique hotel?

Meijer, Shopko, or Stein Mart?

Heck, I'd take the world's biggest White Castle. Imagine how good downtown would smell!

God that would be awesome.

Edit: Let me check with shinatoo to see if it's also "practical".

I picked up a book about the Star's 125th anniversary or something when they were having their fire sale last fall. The book's from 2006 and has a picture of the whole staff at the front. Probably a couple hundred people. They filled the entire camera shot. I'll find the book later and post that.

continuing it's decline the Star actually had what many would call soft core porn in an ad.

They've hit a new low if they don't filter out this kind of ad.

They've been missing deliveries to my parents' house, have accidentally delivered to my house, and recently delivered the Sunday funnies in the Saturday paper, complete with the Sunday date.
