Meanwhile other than what Marinovich said in her state of the government 2003 speech, she has done almost nothing to help develop the KCK riverfront except invite more industrial companies to build near it, and build a tiny Lewis and Clark park.There is an exciting… promising part of Kansas City, Kansas which has remained untapped. Our river is an asset, which holds promise as a community focal point for leisure and economic activity. San Antonio is known for its famous Riverwalk. Wichita… Tulsa and many other cities are realizing the rivers, which run through their downtowns, are major attractions and they are working to develop them. Kansas City, Kansas should capitalize on the potential our riverfront offers as an important community asset and attraction. Our river represents another great opportunity for us.
We have been seeing the so called pics of what they want to do with the Kansas City Missouri riverfront for years, but Omaha has already built up a lot of their riverfront meanwhile we have gone nowhere. Omaha put a 15,000 seat arena, a convention center, and Gallup University on the riverfront, meanwhile a big urban housing project is planned for 2004. Lets go Kansas City, we dont need to be upstaged by Omaha. Kansas City should be king of the Missouri river
