Re: Anton's
I thought it was close to opening already? I was putting together big 12 volunteer stuff and thought about adding them.

Can't wait to check it out. Hope the area can support it and Local Pig.

Was walking by Monday and someone (Anton?) came out. We complimented him on how great it was looking and he said they'd be open "soon".
I know, helpful.

It really is amazing the boulders one must hoist to open a restaurant... just so people like me can instantly complain about the hours...loftguy wrote:The man has got far more patience than I....smh wrote:Was walking by Monday and someone (Anton?) came out. Respect to all who have gone through this process, no matter the end result. There are a lot of great leaps of faith going on in KC lately with efforts from Alex Pope, Port Fonda, Anton's, all of the other folks with recently opened places, and all of the folks who are already open and continue to reinvent themselves. KC is much better for it all.

I've wondered that. Although I'm pretty sure that sign has been there for months. MONTHS.
Also, they have all the tap heads and that jazz installed already. You'd think they would have handled the licensing aspect long before they went to the trouble of purchasing 40 draft heads.

Also, I seem to recall the sign has no writing on it--which leads me to think it has been sunbleached.KCPowercat wrote:Cool...glad to hear...I have been by there many times and never noticed the sign.

Re: Anton's
he needs to take that down. it was for the streetcar rezoning, not his business. the city just asked him to post one since he is in the affected area. pretty sure he has his liquor license.KCPowercat wrote:I saw a "public hearing" sign yesterday....is this for the liquor license?
