There needs to be more media attention on this.

The standard media protocol is to 1. ignore Troost 2. report breathlessly on crimes and 3. complain about new developments. Stalled and complicated development doesn't really fit into any of those categories.

Manor Records settles into new home it hopes will be 'anchor' for Kansas City music scene
Manor Records, the nonprofit record label aimed at helping local musicians fund their work, is opening a new storefront on Troost Avenue. The record store will offer a small stage for concerts and a space for music lessons in the back. The foundation is celebrating its grand opening Friday with a concert.

For the past month, a modest storefront next to an ice cream shop at 55th Street and Troost Avenue has been under wraps. Behind the brown paper, Shaun Crowley, the founder and president of Manor Records, has been hard at work creating his latest venture for the nonprofit record label that nurtures local talent.

Kansas City used to be such a huge music town, and that legacy seems to have been lost in recent years.

Looks like there is a court ordered auction of numerous Abnos properties, many on or near Troost. https://bids.auctionbymayo.com/auctions ... te-auction

I really hope these get into good hands. Some of the intriguing ones include:

The Marquette Club building:

These buildings at 40th and Troost:

A Couple buildings and lots south of Linwood on Troost (maybe UCB/Milhaus could add these to their Linwood and Troost plan).

The Marquette Club would also be a good candidate for Mac Properties to renovate and combine with the new buildings on the corners of Armour and Troost.

MAC is done until they see city council warming up to incentives again.

Didn't they make an offer and he countered with an offer significantly above market?

I seem to recall them calling his bluff

IIRC that's how Abnos has been running his grift for a long time

No. It's the building on the NW corner of 10th and Oak. It's been owned by an Abnos for years.

Along Troost Avenue, Kansas City's new restaurant row emerges: 'The backbone of the city'

New eateries continue to open on Troost between 30th to 79th Street, with offerings that include African, Jamaican, Irish, Mexican and Middle Eastern cuisines. Restaurant owners hope that the rest of the city rallies around the historic thoroughfare as a business district of its own.
