Does any non-KU non-KSU fan want MU to stay in the Dead 12?
Besides some KC politicians and business leaders? Are there any MU fans who don't want to leave? Any there any KC business leaders or politicians in favor of the move?

You need to get out more and widen your social circle. The ones I know fall into one of three catagories.TheBigChuckbowski wrote:Every Mizzou fan I know in real life is against the move.
Stay in Big 12
Move to SEC
Doesn't really matter - likes where the the school is now but also would accept a change of scenery.

Here's what I want, in order:
1. A stable Big 12, with 12 teams... preferably with the same teams we had June 30, 2011.
2. The Big 10. If not the Big 12, I would love to see Mizzou in the Big 10.
3. The SEC only if the first 2 aren't options.
There will be pros and cons to whatever Mizzou does, so I'll support whatever decision they make.

Missouri fan and University of Missouri system alumni.
My preference.
1) Stay in the Big XII
2) If and only if the Big XII ceases to exist, move to any conference in the US other than the SEC (preferably Big X)
3) Independent
4) play high school teams

People who think that something that would be worse for the students of the MU system, the student-athletes of MU, and the taxpayers of Missouri is a good idea are unreasonable.aknowledgeableperson wrote:So people who disagree with you are unreasonable.

I'm a KU alumn, not really a fan, but certainly a sympathizer. I have mild negative feelings toward MU that are 100% the direct result of its KC fanbase and...
I hope they move to the SEC, it would validate everything my father told me about people from Missouri.

Re: Does any non-KU non-KSU fan want MU to stay in the Dead
My mom is a diehard MU fan, and she is apalled by the whole scenario. She does not understand why the school would jump to the SEC for short-term money. Then again, she has been embarassed by the Athletic Dept many times in recent years. I do wonder if this is a classic case of a vocal minority sounding like the majority. I can see why STL fans would want the SEC because their city is totally left out of the Big 12 loop, but I still don't get why MU fans in KC would want to be marginalized like STL people are now. Perhaps my mom and others like her have just given up on trying to have any influence.
A question I do have for other MU fans... Don't you think that if there is another round of teams leaving the Big 12, MU would probably land in one of the big 3? If the Pac 12 decided the invite OU and UT, or OU and OSU, I would think the Big 10 and SEC would move to keep up, and MU would be a logical choice. For MU fans wishing for the Big 10, wouldn't you be better off waiting for the Big 10 to want to expand? A Notre Dame announcement next summer could make you regret jumping to the SEC big time. If history does play into this whole fiasco, it will end with MU running their mouths about the Big 10, going to the SEC, then KU going to the Big 10 a year later (I know it isn't likley, but MU is extraordinarily good and screwing themselves over).

1. Turn the 6-year deal into at least a 13-year deal.KC-wildcat wrote: Define "stable."
2. Turn the LHN into the Big 12 Network.
3. Get to 12 quality schools.
(If that's too many things, then I'd settle for only #1.)

Why can't the BIG 12 just vote to make a BIG 12 network that has tier 3 rights and bump LHN and all the other school networks down to tier 4?

What two "quality schools" would satisfy you? BYU? Notre Dame? Louisville?AllThingsKC wrote:1. Turn the 6-year deal into at least a 13-year deal.KC-wildcat wrote: Define "stable."

I would prefer an AAU school. But, if that's not an option, I wouldn't mind seeing Louisville or Cincinnati. I wouldn't mind BYU or WVU either, they just don't seem to have the greatest location.KCMax wrote: What two "quality schools" would satisfy you? BYU? Notre Dame? Louisville?
