This Forum name could be called "Urban Neighborhoods

Discuss items in the urban core outside of Downtown as described above. Everything in the core including the east side (18th & Vine area), Northeast, Plaza, Westport, Brookside, Valentine, Waldo, 39th street, & the entire midtown area.

I agree. Nothing wrong with "Urban Core" - but I do like "Urban Neighborhoods" a bit better.

Some people associate negatives with the term "Urban Core" (although I certainly don't), and I do agree that "Urban Neighborhoods" is probably a little bit friendlier sounding.
10-year resident of KCMO, who lives in the Volker neighborhood, near the West 39th Street corridor. I grew up outside of St. Louis, on the Illinois side of the river (near Belleville, IL).

"Core" VS "Neighborhoods" sounds small???

I think "Neighborhoods sounds bigger, but I would like it either way.

I like Urban Neighborhoods, and I know this is getting nit picky, but the West Bottoms is an urban neighborhood, as is the River Market, the Crossroads or the new Library District.

It's not a big deal, but it implies that neighborhoods within greater downtown are not part of Kansas City urban neighborhoods.
