You need to do better research. KCMax started that thread and you posted before I did.

i am intrigued by chingon's theory (partially discussed in another thread) about how the kansas side of the KC metro area is not "kansas." he means this in the cultural sense, not the geographical sense. i encourage him to start a new thread discussing this idea, because i am very interested.

Congratulations to James. He was not my choice but I hope he does well.
Lucky for him, Funkhouser set the bar is so low that it's hard to think that James wouldn't be an improvement.

Lots of whining in TKC over the transition team. I'm sure some people felt jilted.
Too early to start the death watch.

Truth.

Yael: The honeymoon begins for Sly James
The public can check back in the months ahead to see if any or all of these are accomplished:
*
?Eliminate the unnecessary hurdles and reduce red tape for small businesses, start-ups and development.?
*
?Hold developers accountable to hire Kansas City workers if the company receives Kansas City tax incentives.?
*
?Establish clear priorities and budgeting benchmarks in the following areas: basic city services, supporting social services, neighborhoods and housing, crime and safety, and job creation.?
*
?Work in partnership with the city manager to develop a business and citizen task force to review each of the city?s departments and operations to streamline processes and major cost centers.?
*
?Re-establish the Citizens Commission on Municipal Revenue ? to evaluate all city revenue and tax incentive programs, explore additional opportunities for improvements to both, and make recommendations to the mayor, council and city manager.?
*
?Increase diversity on the police force.?
*
?Work with the Police Department to adopt ideas from the Cincinnati Initiative to Reduce Violence.?
*
?Employ digital and cutting-edge technologies ?as a means to increase police presence in high crime areas.?
*
?Visit every school in Kansas City in his first four years.?
*
?Provide the leadership needed to bring public and private providers together to spur additional federal, state and philanthropic investment to move toward a comprehensive system of early learning.?
