Plenty of detail on this side of the building. I would guess a second smaller building was planned for the adjacent lot, but no way they do all that detailing if they were planning on covering it up.
And she looks so much better now that she's had a bath.

I wonder what the cost difference is between a pre-fabricated garage assembled on site piece-by-piece versus a poured-on-site garage of the same size? It would be interesting to know the cost-per-parking space of both types of garages.

You're just messing with us after the discussion on this in two different threads.

that's not part of this project, is it? owner is "west properties", same as the empty lot to the south.

This is one instance where even a surface lot is an improvement.

GIS says West Properties is based at Rockridge Farm in Carmel, New York. Search google for this farm and the J Weinstein foundation comes up.

I went downtown around 3pm today. There were MORE people walking on this block, with the street closed, and nothing else on it except the hotel, of any other block that I saw except at the city market
The new addition is just tall enough that it will block the Crowne Plaza hotel entirely from that block of Baltimore

This week they started framing up the apartments along 12th street. The wood portion of P&L North should go pretty quick.

I walked by a couple of weeks ago. The waitress across the street in the President Hotel told us that the new building would be apartments but the much of the P&L Building itself would be condos - is that really the case. Seems like everything is apartments any more.

The project is all apartments.
To my knowledge, I can't think of a single condo has built downtown since the Morgage Collapse. Of course that doesn't change how people perceive what's being built downtown. I know lots of people that basically think that any housing unit downtown is a condo and that those are still being built. Lots of people don't even realize, or understand, the current apartment boom.
Also, as long as construction schedules haven't changed since January of last year, expect this project to be fully completed sometime around September/October of this year.

Outside the wealthiest cities, the national trend is apt developments rather than condos. However many luxury apts are built with the intent to eventually go condo when market conditions are right.
