Jack In the Box Official
It is interesting that the first Metro area Jack In the Box is going to be in Kansas City, KS on 18th Street. They chose an urban location to debut in the Metro whereas the other recent fast food chains who have expanded into KC (Chik-Filet, Panda Express, Dunkin Donuts, and Taco Bueno) have all chosen Suburban areas. Where else do you guys see them putting locations around KC?
It is hard to imagine where as there aren't a lot of infill locations left. Most the fast food infill sites around the KC areas major suburban commercial corridors have already been picked over. Chik-Filet and Panda Express have both done several tear downs and rebuilds around town.
I was thinking may be Johnson Dr in Mission, Shawnee Mission Pkwy or 75th St in Shawnee, Santa Fe in Olathe. Not sure about MO. May be Main St or Broadway...Independence Ave?????
Also do you think Jack In the Box will focus more on urban locations.... do they have a preference for urban demographics?
And lastly do you think they will be successful? Kansas City's fast food market is crowded with major expansions into KC by Chik-Filet, Taco Bueno, Panda Express and also substantially increased presence by Arby's, Wendy's, and Taco Bell around town over the past few years.

Taco Bueno and Panda Express are absolutely horrible. Food is bland, and gross. I've never eaten at Jack in the Box because I was growing up when they had their big issues with giving people diarrhea and whatever else. E. Coli maybe?
Re: Jack In the Box Official
Although, I actually kind of like Taco Bueno (way better than taco bell anyway) and Jack in the Box is pretty standard fast food. Now White Castle needs to come back though.

After a night of drinking, few things taste better than the Jack in the Box sourdough melt.
Re: Jack In the Box Official
God I wish White Castle wouldn't of left. Frequented the one in Grandview early on in high school.

Now all we need is a Whataburger and Taco Cabana.

I wish Taco Inn would expand outside of Lincoln.

Jack in the box is great. Inventive fast food, most open 24 hours, anything available at any time, and funny commercials +seasonal antenna balls

Olathe Gateway,Crystal Springs,Olathe Commons,Olathe Pointe but already has Taco Bell,Alden Center Phase 2,the New Hy-Vee at 151th Street and Blackbob Road, next to Sonic in Blackbob Marketplace or View but Taco Buneo is already their.Stonepost Shops, other Developments on 135th Street,Leawood Marketplace would be a good place for it and maybe ESPN ZONE,Rib Crib and so on.

Those are some very good ideas. BUT where else in Kansas City might they put Jack in the boxes besides those 20 locations you mentioned in Olathe?mgsports wrote: Olathe Gateway,Crystal Springs,Olathe Commons,Olathe Pointe but already has Taco Bell,Alden Center Phase 2,the New Hy-Vee at 151th Street and Blackbob Road, next to Sonic in Blackbob Marketplace or View but Taco Buneo is already their.Stonepost Shops, other Developments on 135th Street,Leawood Marketplace would be a good place for it and maybe ESPN ZONE,Rib Crib and so on.

In the year 2000...
They come up with a device that sprays White Castle [and Jack in the Box] directly onto the toilet bowl.

Uh, that invention goes back further than that, it's called a butt. I don't understand all the excitement regarding fast food, in most cases the product is crap, all the same, and completely interchangable. I once lived in a small Texas town that welcomed the new and first McDonald's into town with a parade, I was hoping we were a bit beyond that in KC and the forum.warwickland wrote: In the year 2000...
