Need a venue for a small professional gathering
Need a venue for a small professional gathering:
Here is the skinny. 3pm to 7pm happy hours type setup, invitation only, need space to set up 12 tables with AV equipment that we will be showing off.
We tried BLVD but they were not very responsive and very expensive for the Muehlebach Suite. But that's the type of venue we are going for. I would love to do something downtown but anything RCP or JoCo would do.

Figlio has a good room about that size for meetings.
If it doesn't have street-level retail, it's an abortion.

Does it need to be a place that serves food and drinks? It may be a bit far south for you, but Eggstc will rent out their entire restaurant in the afternoons after they have "closed" and they have some AV stuff I believe.
Thai Place has an enclosed party room with set up for karoake.
Lidia's I believe has a party room but it may be too small for what you're looking for.
If you don't need food or drinks, try the libraries.

Screenland has a pretty large room for events as well. It's a pretty cool space.

In a similar vein - AMC theaters market themselves as places you can rent single theaters for corporate meetings and presentations - I supose the new theater might well continue this practice.drumatix wrote: Screenland has a pretty large room for events as well. It's a pretty cool space.
Isn't the Copaken stage available for event rentals as well?

Liberty memorial was my second choice (partly because I designed the AV system) but the boss wanted something more bar like.
Figlio is intriguing but we have a lot of heavy gear to bring in and I think the party room is upstairs??
Crosstown Station also has a upstairs problem.
But you got me thinking (especially with the Lidias suggestion) about the party room at Jack Stack Freighthouse. I'm gonna see if that one flies.

A meeting room at the Convention Center.
I may be right. I may be wrong. But there is a lot of gray area in-between.

Hereford House has A/V and a bar. I think they call it the Hollywood Room.

OK, to reiterate.
I do not need AV. It's an AV equipment showcase so we will bring that.
I need bar like atmosphere. Liberty Memorial and Bartle will not work.
Needs to have easy access to bring in heavy AV equipment.

Re: Need a venue for a small professional gathering
I had my rehearsal dinner there back in 2001. I assume they still rent it out.
Maybe had 50-60 folks there. Plenty of space for 12 tables and folks perusing your AV stuff in a happy hour setting. I had seated dining and hired the Wilders to play there. It has a patio out the back that can fit a small bar and some cocktail tables as well. They had their own dedicated chef and kitchen that was willing to work with what we wanted and had her own ideas. Not a very sexy space, but functional and DT.
I don't remember it being crazy expensive. I think the Wilders may have cost as much as the place! Of course, they were worth it!

I'd recommend either the 2nd or 3rd floor of the Cashew. I think they call the rental space 2000 Grand.
