Tough one to answer. Some of my top favorites - for varying reasons.
I'll assume, for the sake of discussion that burgers don't count. I'm partial to italian meat sandwiches - so my list will skew that way.

The Napoli (D'Bronx)
Philly Cheese Steak (Grinders)
#2 (Italian Meat sandwich) - Corrolo's
Rich Boy - LaSala's
The Overlander (Fooleries)
BLT (Peanut)

If I HAD to pick one - my favorite is The Napoli.

Used to be a pastrami and corned beef on rye with swiss from New York Deli, but I haven't been there for a few years.

Honorable mention, gotta go with:

-Pork Z-man, OK Joe's
-Pesto Bello from Planet Sub (I know, chain restaurant disqualification)
-Bryant's beef
-Danny Edward's pork
-LC's burnt ends
-Something from Dean and Deluca

I'll second the nod for d'Bronx Napoli.  With extra green olives, hold the tomato.

Nice call.  Also, in prime summer months, they put out a really mean BLT.

Hmmm...sandwiches...

I really like the Philly at Grinder's, though it's a little hit and miss.  When it's on, I'd have to go with that.

Not counting burgers, I guess.

A sliced beef at Bryant's (when on), or burnt ends at LC's are great choices too, though, I generally fail to take advantage of the "sandwich aspect" at LC's...if you eat it with a fork is it still a sandwich?

Ah, so close.  The correct answer is AB's beef sandwich.  A classic....so good and so simple.  Never ever fails.

I would just like to document this for posterity. Chef and MD agreed on something. The earth will now explode.

For my money, the reuben at The Brick is a damn tasty sandwich.

Good indeed - but the addition of another slice of bread and some smoked ham enhances it that much more.  :D
