Studio Restaurant and Bar - new place on Mcgee downtown
Re: Studio Restaurant and Bar - new place on Mcgee downtown
I haven't run into any problems with bands yet, but so far I've only been there on Monday and Wednesday evenings and on Saturday afternoons.
I'm going there and to Zoo Bar after work today. I may go finally go check out Studio's breakfast later on this week. (If anyone drops by there early this evening say 'hi' to the big guy in the tan shirt at the bar drinking Guinness. )

My backyard...
The Pendergast Poltergeist Project!
I finally divorced beer and proposed to whiskey, but I occassionally cheat with fine wine.

This looks like a place I would wander into! Have you been yet? If so how was it. Nice variety of Beer on tap?
If you're not on the EDGE, you're taking up TOO MUCH ROOM!

They are going to score large until spring '08....they need some large ads closer to Sprint Center announcing that they are 1/2 block away.

Zoo Bar, believe it or not, is about to do that very thing. (It's 1 block closer to SC on McGee.)

I enjoy this place and it may be that I live next door. It might seem empty to people but the tenants here at pb lofts we love it. We order food and take it home. The appetizers are great. I also have had breakfast, which on Saturday's is served until 3pm. I have not tried the burgers but they are huge. The owners are extremely nice and if you have any suggestions they are both very open.

Studio is a beacon of light on that street.
There is no fifth destination.

Studio has given up on breakfast and no longer open in the morning.

Dang. I never got as chance to give it a try.
If I had and it was good I probably could have sustained it myself.

Just heard secondhand from a guy who was there last night that they have started work on building a separate pub in the basement.

I was down there during the DNA event and nothing had been done but they discussed their plans to do so. They have a "improve as they go" strategy that is dependent upon their business.scooterj wrote: Just heard secondhand from a guy who was there last night that they have started work on building a separate pub in the basement.

(Of course you didn't get the same from me either, so, never mind. ) (I was sitting at the bar with a bunch of people and they were in a hurry to get out and move to the Zoo Bar.)

I'm sorry I missed you. Find it in your heart to forgive me?scooterj wrote: I know I saw you there and I got no hello or nuthin from you!

I saw you the other day on a lunchtime walk and said hi but you were zoned out in the headphones, so we're even.

We finally made it to the Studio for dinner on Saturday. It wasn't clear whether you are to seat yourself or not, so we had to track someone down to get a table. The food was pretty good, but the service was not. Our server was quite possbily one of the most unfriendly I've ever encountered anywhere. There was only one other table and then a handful of people on the bar side. Hopefully the service we encountered was not the norm.

Tiffany is one of my favorite bartenders in KC...and she's drop dead gorgeous. And she gives me more free beer than any establishment I've ever been to. Tips go a long way with her

But yes, she's by far the best bartender I've ever had. And her boss makes really good margaritas! Whatever that purple thing is it's amazing! We should go there this week...PumpkinStalker wrote: I know. Damn.
