Lights on the new H&R Block building

Post by Beermo »

has anyone seen the new light display on the new h&r block building. yet?

got to work about 12-ish yesterday and found out while outside on the smoking deck of the star production building that they were testing these real bright and multi-colored LED's. the block building is northwest of the star building and the lights on the block building were on the southeast side of their building. about 10 feet wide and 70-80 feet tall. multi-color. up and down. up and down. then toward the end of my break i saw they  had added numbers, with a "10" at the bottom. looks like they will have some kind of new year's countdown display going on.

i was shocked that they even had lights like that. looks real cool though.

I saw them yesterday around the same time, and they were awsome.  I couldn't make out what they were trying to create, but nonetheless they were cool.

Whats wrong with the lights...seriously...

If that bugs you...try Vegas...

p.s. - The lights look killer from the briarcliff area...the marriott ones that is..

Umm didnt know the Marriot had light on the back of it...does it?  Also i think that all the lighting displays are awesome...makes it look like something is "going on" downtown...(not that there isnt, it just makes it look even more lively)

exactly, this isn't Vegas.  I just don't see the point of them other than being a novelity.  But thats about par for downtown, so I guess I shouldn't be complaining about them.

Count me as another who likes thee Marriott lights.  And all thee other lights for that matter.

(And, no, there are no lights on the back off the Marriott.  It'ss probably that DST building on Broadway that is seen from Briarcliff.)

hmm...well i thought it was the marriott..but heck..does the DST light up that way?  Its not like I could make out which building it was, but i could deff. see the lighting display and it was just like the sweet chaning picture type lighting the marriott has..

The locals who developed the programming for the Marriott lighting are getting projects all around the country now.

Does anyone know why the light display on the H&R Block building does not work and if they can get it working again? It'd be a nice addition to the skyline these days.
