I've never been either but supposedly it has all the old recipes of the old Italian Gardens as its the son of the Italian Gardens owner.

Don't know the details at all, but just from years of publicity, heresay and observation it seems that young Mr. DiCapo has a rather mercurial temperment.

Dammit. I was just going to try that place. Aside from Jazz, are there any good cajun places? The only one we really like is in Ameristar which is too damn far to drive.

Nica's 320 in the Crossroads has some Cajun dishes on their menu, but I haven't tried any of them yet.

Park Place rent has to be outrageous, maybe they can move to Missouri

Not happening, but owner did find another opportunity working for an up and coming KC-based franchise.

Surprisingly, Cafe Roux didn't really have that many cajun dishes. Still miss KiKi's very much.

I've long thought KC could use a really good cajun spot. Can anyone vouch for Danny's? I've heard a lot of mixed reviews.

Great place, I once went there often. KC has trouble supporting Cajun places...I wonder why?

There's been a few that have bitten the dust...Copeland's (also very good) and others I cannot recall right now.

There are two local cajun franchises here in Houston that are superb and I wish one of them would come to KC. Papadeaux would be great in the Power and Light District and I am sure it would draw well despite KC's not so great record with Cajun. They've expanded all over Texas and the southwest (Pheonix, Albuquerque, Denver), so KC could be a possibility...despite KC's lack of embracing cajun places, I think they would do well. There restaurants are packed all the time and fun places although they made a conscious attempt to upscale them in the last few years which has taken some of the casualness away.

Here's the menu...

Just like watching a friend diminish, and despite your denial one day they are gone.

Unbelievable, I've enjoyed them for more than 30 years. Talk about a different time downtown.

G-d I feel old.......

As of Jan 1 you can add David Spivey's Rare Books and Fine Art to this list. Spivey sold, new owner's plans unknown.
