megabus was paying the ata a *very* nominal amount for use of 10th and main.  i suspect they are paying a similarly tiny amount to use 3rd and grand.

yes, union station makes sense, but they'd probably have to pay "mega-bucks" to stop there.

stuck in stl waiting on another megabus to get back to kc. AC in original bus is broke. bus out here left on time but arrived an hour late. $1 fare is nice but won't likely be a repeat customer.

If you get bored, you can always count the ways KC is superior to St. Louis.  That should take several hours.

Yeah.  But does St. Louis have a bus stop at their 3rd & Grand?  I think not!  I more thing you get to count!

My only Megabus experience from STL-KC was similarly disastrous.  They had trouble getting a driver, the bus left over an hour late, had a problem in Wentzville, 45 more minutes.  Got to KC a little under three hours late.  7.5 hours all told with wait times.  For the train on the way there, it was 20 min late or about six hours total.  Bus was a last minute thing too so the ticket was more expensive than the train would have been.  blah...

I would think the megabus business model would be getting a bit strained by the cost of diesel fuel?

We finally made it home at 11:00, three hours late.  The bus they found for us was nicer than a normal megabus, so that was nice.

I like the idea, but it's not something I'll try again if I have any need to get where I am going on time.

Or you should have driven. I've never been two hours late getting to St. Louis because of road work or wrecks&

I would guess, outside of driving, the Bus has the second most reliable on time percentage.

those cheap fares on megabus are getting hard to find.  a ticket to st. louis tomorrow is $39.  even checking three months out, nearly all seats to st. louis for the second week in august are $25. 

so i'm traveling by amtrak -- $26 for travel tomorrow.

at least the departure times are still complementary. also, kudos to megabus for changing their mid-state stopover to columbia!

megabus is having a big $1 fare sale right now. travel between sept. 14 and nov. 19.

megabus is now serving des moines and iowa city. trip time from des moines to chicago is 6 hours.

Only via chicago?  Or KC-DSM service?

megabus just announced on twitter that they are now serving memphis via STL. no word yet on whether the schedules will allow same-day trips from KC to memphis.

You cannot get to Memphis from KC on megabus but you can get to kc from memphis on megabus

The cheapest way to take advantage of this is to fly one way to st louis on southwest then  get the 1 dollar fares on mega bus to memphis then a megabus or amtrak from STL-KC

If you got all one dollar fares on megabus and got a 40 dollar one way on Soutwest, you could go to memphis for about 65 bucks

Memphis flights are always so damn expensive ($397 rt if i went October 20-22)

you can't even make a connection with greyhound. that sucks!

Megabus has new service to Omaha but you can only go from Omaha to Des Moines, Iowa City and Chicago.

It's really time they make KC a hub, you could easily set up service to Omaha, Des Moines, Minneapolis, Wichita, Dallas, OKC, and Tulsa rather easily
