That's pretty much what I got from it.  I thought it was going to be the farther you were from the stadiums, the less likely you would be to vote YES.    But, that's not the case.

I think your map is pretty much spot on.

I waited until 4:00 to vote in the 2000 presidential election.  Ended up waiting in line for 4.5 hrs!

That's what I mean by "exciting."  Although, this is not a presidental election, and only 25% of voters are expected to turn out.  So, I do not think I will have to wait that long.  Or, maybe I will, who knows?  I live on the wild side!  8)

This is a bit off the subject but I have not seen it discussed:  In the event of the stadium tax passing, how can such an extensive renovation (at least extensive in terms of cost) proceed with the stadiums in use?  This would especially be a problem for the Royals who use their stadium from April to October leaving only a few winter months with short days for renovation.  Or, do they plan on working during the season.  Just wondering.

I imagine they'll do as much as they can in the offseason, but inevitably they'll have to work during the season as well, when the team is away. It will be an inconvenience, but luckily, there's only 10,000 fans there so it won't be that big of a deal.

There is nothing wilder than a line weaving all throughout a church full of people waiting to vote for GW :)

When they renovated the Oakland Alameda Colliseum they worked on it right through games.  I remember there being footage of Ironworkers sitting down on the job to watch the game rather than work.

Well, they can get the renovations done in a week.  It's called, "Extreme Makeover: Stadium Edition."

I thought the same thing when I heard Busch II was being replaced by Busch III.  I thought, there's no way that will be built that fast!

But...way.

I have been totally blown away by how quickly they have built that thing.  I simply do not believe what has happened there.  They built out the home plate and first base side of the stadium as much as they could, then demo'd the old stadium--the part in the most way and then the rest of it--completely in a month.

This is what you have now.  http://www.kmov.com/stadiumcam/lg640.htm

At any rate, if they so choose to do it, these renovations could be completed in the off season, I'm guessing easily.  They built an entire new one at that rate.

I doubt things will go this smoothly here, though.  I think the pvrivate vs. public funding has something to do with that.

Kietzman was just on the air and was saying that, from his contacts at the polling places and emails he has received, he believes that this is going to pass.  Of course, that really doesn't mean a lot but I wouldn't be at all surprised.  Scare tactics were very effective during the 04 presidential election.

I won't be surprised either way.

Chef, it is 2006.  I think it is time to get over the 2000 election.  The Supreme Court only accelerated what was going to happen anyway.
