so I checked out Flying Saucer last night; it's a pretty great place, as seems to be the consensus around here.  I had a very good if smallish turkey burger with hot german potato salad and the Fire Sale (a different $2.75 beer every day, great idea) Shiner Bock, only because I am working my way through a very rough cold of some sort and wanted a light, cheap beer, so it worked (barely) for that purpose.

My girlfriend had the brewery night special, wherein FS features a different brewery each Wed. and then allows you to keep your glass with their logo if you order their beers.  Last night was Boulevard, and yes, you do get to keep each glass from each beer that you order, good stuff!

I love the decor, with frisbee golf discs all over the ceiling, the multitude of plates, dart boards and general cozy environment and lighting.  The booths by the windows rock too, but I didn't have the pleasure of trying them.  All things considered, a great place and certainly one to put in the rotation.  Like a more intimate, cheaper (never thought I'd say that about a P&L bar), funkier and more fun Yardhouse.  I've gotta try the Monday pint night specials, that can't be beat!
are we spinning free?

I "like" am totally in love with Aimee Wynhausen.  lol.  Why is it illegal to post a scan of a menu?  Just wondering.  Will be at the saucer tomorrow afternoon for sure!

So I need a bike with gears.  I'm good with that...thanks for the explanation.

A bar/restaurant's menu is their intellectual property. As such, its display occurs at their discretion. If they don't wish to make the prices viewable on the internet, there's probably a reason for that. But regardless of motives, this is the sort of thing for which it would be best to get their permission. They might even approve, but I doubt it.

But even if they do approve, Missouri law prohibits third parties from advertising or indexing happy hour specials on the internet, and the paper menu contains some of these ads.

BEER KNURD ALERT

Check your email, they have a quiz you can take and if you get yours submitted in the first 70% of those emailed, you get to print off a coupon for a free beer ($5 Value).

I just did, got 8 out of ten...  :?  It doesn't tell you which you missed which sucks.  Oh well....

Flying Saucer:  "I'm sorry, this coupon can't be used until tomorrow"
Heartbroken Me:  "OhhhhKay.... well a buddy just used his earlier...."
Flying Saucer:  "Well, it must have been a different server, but I can give you a free beer"
Improving Me:  "Thats what the coupon is for.  So you're giving me a free beer, and I have to come back tomorrow to get another free beer?"
Flying Saucer:  "Yes, I'm sorry."
All Better Me:  "It's ok, I forgive you.  Rules are rules."

loftguy, so I had over 500 points at Gordon Biersch and tried to redeem them.  Well, 15 minutes and many technical difficulties later I get a comped meal and get to keep my points.  It's definitely a good night.

Well, I just don't like having to walk over to that UFO beer tracking machine.    Why can't a person just give their beer club card to the server/bartender at the end of the session and then they swipe it in the same system that rings up the bill?    It's just a hassle, in my opinion, having to go over and use that thing.
