Right now they realy do not use that corner for anything. It would be nice to see it developed into something nice.

You look at the picture and it looks like the SE facade will be boxed in with the ground floor being used for retail or restaurant. the upper floors will only be for show. The only thing that will suffer is the changing artwork that is on the S side of this garage.

...which is now totally obstructed by the KC Live block. they need to move it to the grand side.

So will the retail portion be an add-on structure to the existing parking structure (is there room for that?) or will they have to take out some of the existing parking garage to build a retail structure? I'm assuming the latter, but its hard to tell in the rendering.

It looks like the first lane going in on the south would be eliminated and the place where Standard parking keeps their vehicles would go away for the new restaurant. There are other entrances that would pick up the slack of the one lost lane. It looks like the corner will be built out also.

having seen the rendering up close, it looks like 6-8 parking spaces might be lost (assuming there are spaces sandwiched in between the entrances/exits on grand and 13th). oh no!

The only ones that would be lost would be Standard Parkings.

I think that space would be the perfect size for a Walnut Stand

I think a cobler, or perhaps barrel maker, would be a better use of space.
