Tying them together in the vote is win win

Chiefs get the Royals out of their way. Frees up options for additional development or building a new stadium next door

Royals don’t have to bear basically any of the weight or pressure for the vote. Like they don’t need to sell the idea nearly as hard. I seriously doubt they stand a chance if it’s a standalone vote. All that needs to happen is trot out Mahomes, have him say good things about new Arrowhead stadium, and the vote is guaranteed to pass

It’s a sure thing if Jackson County officials can finally get out of their own way and move this thing along already

Side note. Is there anywhere to check for the announcement today? Like just the royals news release or anything on radio or TV?

New poll: 70% of Clay County would vote against a tax for the stadium

Meh - moving the stadium downtown and it will still be facing i70. No view of the downtown. Fail.

It was never going to have that view. We’ve known that for years.

The best part of the renderings & video is how this makes a pedestrian walkway(s) over the East loop. That means South & East loop will have seamless crossings within this decade.

Yeah, that ped bridge over 71 might be one of my most favorite things about the renderings. Could open up a whole world of possiblities.

Be like Target Field: join downtown without disrupting it by displacing so many other people/buildings for a sporting venue. This is it.

Impressed how they would plan to integrate EV site and compliment the existing fabric of Downtown.

If only it was the Chiefs who had that vision for the NKC site.

All MLB stadiums face North or East, or some variation there of.

That ped bridge + park over 71 *chefs kiss*

Would love more/larger park cover there too. Plenty of industrial land over there to develop.

Looks like they have put more effort into the NKC site.

The actual stadium for NKC is much better than the EV design. However, not a fan at all of NKC and hate the 4,000 person performnace venue which this city doesn't need unless we want the historic Midland to close.

I do wish they chose something else for the exterior. Brick or something. We're starting to have so much glass everywhere between 1,2,3 light and everything is glass.

They showed the Frank White statue on the east end of the bridge too so maybe a little "come on now" to the old player.

So, make a retractable roof stadium facing west and open it once the sun goes down.

What's to keep that from just being a pedestrian bridge to parking lots? I don't know. I thought I would be more impressed by this.
