Numerous states have considered or approved legislation. As far as I can tell, bidding states of Texas, Tennessee, and Florida have enacted trans sports laws. TN also has “bathroom bills” and Texas it’s abortion law. Doesn’t appear to have has a negative impact on getting business or events so far. Somehow, I have a feeling FIFA is willing to overlook human rights issues when it comes to the big money bids in Texas and Florida.
Maybe Tennessee is small enough for them to cut out. Not exactly surprising considering FIFAs 2022 World Cup track record.

Edit: is Tennessee farther right then missouri?
While numerous anti-LGBTQ measures advanced in GOP-led statehouses across the country, no state's political leaders went further than Tennessee in enacting new laws targeting transgender people.

Under Tennessee's bathroom measure, a student, parent or employee could sue in an effort to claim monetary damages "for all psychological, emotional, and physical harm suffered" if school officials allow a transgender person into the bathroom or locker room when others are in there. They also could take legal action if required to stay in the same sleeping quarters as a member of the opposite sex at birth, unless that person is a family member.
Yes Tennessee is significantly more to the right than Missouri or Kansas.

They can't push the envelope on this because Georgia, Texas & Florida are three of their top targets to land games in. Therefore I think the whole thing is moot.

LOL. Russia and Qatar back-to-back. FIFA will only use human rights as a justification if it fits a narrative that makes them look good. I'm pretty sure human rights would only be used in an extreme coin toss scenario after all other things have been considered.

I wonder if hosting a 4th straight AFC championship and punching in a Super Bowl win just weeks before they announce the World Cup would help. It gives us alot of visibility, elevates Clark Hunt and Mahomes status even more (they are on the bid) and most importantly shows that we are used to massive important events being held at Arrowhead and can handle it. I really think it can't hurt.

This a prerequisite? Or is this a signal that we’re getting it?

It’s a pre-req. Georgia just got it passed for Atlanta recently. However it does show FIFA your TV willing to do what it takes if you pass this.

Harold Kurtz on Twitter:
Got an email from the site “42 floors” that weighed the metrics of the 17 cities vying to be a. World Cup host city. Using the metrics that FIFA uses, it found KC to be 6th of 17 site. 10 cities will be selected for the World Cup.

Harold also said they scored the airport on our CURRENT one. So if they judge the one that will be there in 2026, we're actually in 5th place.

There seems to be a huge dropoff after 6th spot.

How in the world is Denver, Philly, Baltimore and Seattle ranked lower than KC on hotels?

I thought DC changed their bid to use the stadium in Baltimore? Baltimore stadium has better transit access to DC than Landover does and the stadium is MUCH nicer.

I also don't see how the new airport will change KC's ranking. It's not like the new KCI will impress anybody. It just won't depress them like the current one does. The flights etc should be about the same, especially relative to other airports.

Looks like KC is mostly in this due to the size of the stadium and the training facilities. I think KC will get it. The community probably wants it more than any other city that's bidding for it. You literally hear nothing about this here in the DC/Balt area, but it is constantly in the news, social media etc in KC.

Big passenger experience and throughput boosts

New airport: large premium lounge, increase in international gates, FIFA event retail opportunity.

The new airport and increased hotel stock in a resurgent downtown undoubtedly help our odds.

Is the final bid public? 🙄

They said they submitted it but I haven’t seen the document.

According to that document we’re #1 in Fan Fest opportunities. I could see that.

My guess is the only reason Arrowhead isn’t ranked higher is the location is awful and dislocated.

Narrow field. Even when they carve out the corners in will be narrow.

idk, why do the backup players really need to be in gamer chairs on the sideline? The field is a fine width.

Ok but that's also every other NFL stadium's field. They're all carving for the corners.

Most new stadiums are built to host big soccer games. The chiefs have made some changes over the years to be better, and if we win, they’ll make more.

It’s not a big deal.

I want to see what we said about transport, especially airport, and hotels.
