I thought that the most recent rendering showed grass instead of fountains?MightyKC wrote: Yeah, there are two large concentric circles that look like they are going to be fountains. I will try to get some pics. They have also planted a few trees in the concrete boxes along the street and are getting ready to pour the steps leading up to the box office.

Edit, someone deleted it.
But while I am editing I might as well say that I am not to fond of the Sprint Name only being there but whatever. I am happy that their are going to be fountains, I need to get DT again, I have been sick for the past 2 weeks so I haven't been able to go.

That logo on top of the SC looks like crap imo.......I realize you don't see it from ground level, but come on.....I have to look at the ugly piece of yellow tape from my window at 1201 Walnut every day. I thought the logo was going to be more prominent and permanent looking than basically a big strip of tape with Sprint Center stenciled on it.

I agree. I hope that what we're seeing isn't the final product. For pedestrians it's not a big deal. But, when the blimp is flying over during a Predator's game, it may reflect poorly on the arena.

kinda looks like they stacked up sponsor labels under the yellow tape so they can just peel them off when they change...

Don't worry about how the logo looks. It will have to be replaced anyway when Sprint gets acquired, as many have been speculating the past year or so.

While that may be all the roof is going to say, no way they are completely done with that roof...if so, that's really bad.
Those circles are for the art display but they sure look like they are going to hold water....I wouldn't count some sort of fountain out of it quite yet, no matter the drawings.

What led me to think fountains was the large pipes running to these during construction.

I think that's just the conduit for the electrical.
It's so weird how they put up the street lights and loading zone parking signs before construction is complete...that just seems like the last thing to do...but hey, I'm no G.C.

Re: OFFICIAL - Arena construction
I was looking at the renderings of the front entrance, and I noticed a while back that there was going to be some slight alterations to the original plans. But as I looked alittle closer I went on to notice that MAYBE instead of a blank entrance with a Sprint Center sign hung on to it MAYBE that front entrance will be one big LED board above the doorways. I could be wrong but comparing the original rendering to the holiday greetings rendering thats what I see.KansasCityCraka wrote: thanks for the pics, the main entrance looks amazing.

I will reserve my judgement until they are installed. We tend to hate new and different things around here. See... Bartle Sky Stations, Oldenburg Shuttlecocks...MidtownCat wrote: ................and will be extremely retarded.
