This project has been conspicuously quiet of late. Anyone heard what the hold up is? City approval and the land sale is complete...

Should start moving in the next 30 days. They had some sort of financing delay or something.

I don't recall seeing this rendering of Ashland. NSPJ website gives completion date of 2021.

It's a fairly good match. They even have the fence where the right turn lane was removed. They mainly redid the streetscape with a lot more landscaping

They rendered it after a storm at dusk. Any road looks better in that situation.

Despite the lego block design (it's fine) functionally this is one of the best RM infill projects, up to street with retail at corners. And looks like garage entrance to rear.

First permit issued today for this project... No renderings or other attachments (yet). Described as 6-story mixed-use multi-family building.

Work begins later this month.

The development’s name is a nod to a historic hotel formerly located at Independence Avenue and Grand Boulevard in the River Market from the 1880s until the early 1940s, according to the developer.

The 135,790 square-foot apartment building will be ready for tenant occupancy by late summer of 2022. NSPJ Architects of Prairie Village designed the building and Genesis Companies of Kansas City will be the builder.

I have high hopes for this project. That corner will be so much improved after this is built.
