Re: Aixois opening in Commerce Arcade
I work in the building. I'll probably hit it up for breakfast and/or coffee a lot. Lunch too. I'm not really a huge fan of the lunch options within walking distance of my office. I prefer the westside/crossroads establishments but that requires a car trip so I often just pack a lunch and eat in the park.

This is looking pretty awesome. I hope they keep a simple look. It reminds me a bit of Blue Bottle Coffee in SF. It'll be the most inviting dining room in the Financial District.KC-wildcat wrote:

got a tour earlier this week from the manager. the space is complete and i believe they've already had a private event. it's an amazing transformation from that shitty little pizza place with downtown's worst food. it actually kinda feels like an authentic brasserie. should be open very soon.
they're wise to try valet at the beginning.

I walked by last night around 11 and they were still in there working. Being all lit up it really activates what has been a lonely stretch of Walnut after dark.

Yep, my office just got notified that they soft-opened for breakfast and lunch only this morning. No word yet on when the full launch will be.

had lunch there today. menu is great. i had the poulet roti (rotisserie chicken) that came with frites and side salad. all were excellent and a steal at $10. liquor license is in progress and they didn't have a response on BYOB. can't wait to try the croque monsieur!

Tried the liver. Conclusion: breaded and delicious. Lunch was very quiet on Friday.
Bartender mentioned they would be putting a big awning out front and they are really banking on having a good happy hour crowd.

Dropped by to look in and get some menus for work and they were a busy little place. It's such a bright and airy space and love how they've made it open. The hostess said they are doing pretty well thus far and once their liquor license is established (on Friday), they will be pushing happy hours and lots of wine options for dinner. Woot!

Aixois Brasserie brings a little Gallic chic to the P&L District
. "There are still some misconceptions about dining downtown," he says. "One is that there's no place to park. That's not true. There's a surprising amount of street parking after 6 p.m., and we validate the parking tickets from the adjacent bank garage."

They might want to recognize themselves on their own website.

Also, Aixois isn't in P&L by a long shot.

I'd agree, the general public doesn't know where it starts and/or stops.

That's true I suppose. On another note, I've really been enjoying the Library location in P&L.
