It had gotten to the point where I'd written this one off as dead. Pretty much the entire Argyle building project has happened in the time it's taken this one to gut the old bar & grill and board up some windows.

talking to the team at the new hampton inn (gumbel building, same developer), they redirected all of their resources to the hampton to get it open quicker. now that it's open, hopefully the interstate will move faster.

Similarly, a once-projected December 2015 opening of a 75-room Holiday Inn Express in the Interstate Building has passed. Interior renovation work continues on a complete renewal of that 100-year-old building at 417 E. 13th St., across the street from the Jackson County Courthouse.

Developer Mark Patel said the 13th Street hotel was delayed to get his other property, the Hampton Inn on Walnut, up and running first.

Windows are being replaced, and it looks like they're about ready to build the new egress tower on the back:

The back of the building looks so much larger than the front. I certainly hope they do something with the appearance of the prominent south-facing rear of the building during the renovation. It presently looks like council housing in the UK.

Looks like this might be close to opening. Exterior signage is up. HIE website says reservations will be accepted starting July 14.

I was sure this project was older than four years, but going back through emails Matt Abbott -- the original developer -- made his first request to two-way Locust for the project in 2014. Seems like an eternity!

Went into the lobby a few weeks ago to poke around. About what you'd expect for this flag.

Could they be already planning to replace the air conditioners at this place?

A crane application to the FAA, for the duration of 18 months, was applied for these coordinates back in May. 130ft crane height.
