Kind of surprised at mine- 67 for Waldo.  Thought it would be higher, but looking at some of the businesses they noted, seems like some of them were not very updated.

57 for me in the garment district, although i question the accuracy since it listed "Folger Coffee Co." as a "coffeeshop"

Really?  We have a lot of friends that live in the mission/RP strip north of johnson dr and almost everytime we are down there we comment about how there are constantly people out biking/jogging/walking on every block.  It seems like one of the most outdoor fitness oriented neighborhoods in town - to an almost freakish extent.

I got a 67 at the house I grew up in at 89th and Ward Parkway... most likely because of the Mall.

My old home in Baileyville, KS got a 31. the score though should have been lower as the distance to some of the businesses was shorter than the actual distances.

Walkability scores for different parts of city

Post by ignatius »

http://www.walkscore.com/index.shtml

Ranks how many neighborhood amenities are w/in walking distance.  It probably doesn't have the newest places that have opened up, especially affecting downtown.  And a category may not be important to you, like schools.  It's also inaccurate at identifying movie theaters, probably other things too.  It also can't distinguish pedestrian friendliness of the area, so a suburban strip area with many amenities surrounded by giant parking lots could score well.

My address (between Westport/Plaza) got a score of 95/100

12th/main 91
8th/broadway 74
19th/main 89
5th/delaware 77
pershing/grand 83
31st/main 75
downtown loop should hit upper 90s when P&L opens up

armor/troost 52
W39th/bell 82
39th/main 92
westport/penn 97 (highest I've found)

47th/main 95
47th/broadway 94
48th/jefferson 89
50th/main 89
63rd/brookside 68
75th/wornall 69

Denver's 16th street mall 94
StL 6th/Wash Ave 97  (but central corridor is surprisingly lower than Westport)
Minneapolis Nicollet Mall 100

OOps, didn't realize there is already a thread.

So it looks like Wesport gets the highest score, followed by Plaza and then Downtown.

Kool site, but somewhat inaccurate.

For example, The cup and saucer has been closed for 2 years but it was counted. Conversely, the New Aldis is not even listed. So I think the 65 I got is actually too low for Pendleton Heights. Anyway to tweek it?

President Bush's Crawford Ranch, Crawford, TX got a 0,
But The White House, Washington, DC got a 91. I think those are  accurate.
